I sent a letter of thanks to Professor Sinclair.
Dear Professor Sinclair & Yuki
How are you doing? This is a refreshing email from Tokyo. Tokyo is the rainy season. it’s raining now. But my heart is sunny.
June 19,2020, the wonderful gift you sent to me brought me happiness and joy. You wrote Dr. Seiichi Okumura in the address and name part of the gift you sent. It was my first time for me to receive a gift with the word ”Dr.” in the name, so I was very happy. In addition to that, I received a gift, and I thought you sent Canadian whiskey because you are Canadian, but I was surprised because it was sake. Next time, I’ll give you Canadian whiskey to celebrate, but I’m Japanese! Hahaha.
Japan has proceeded to step 3 and, in effect, the declaration of emergency has been lifted. However, the number of people infected with covid-19, which had been declining once again, is gradually increasing again, which is unpredictable. I think this is an issue that everyone in the world must work together to overcome.
The following text is a suggestion raised by the professor who reviewed the doctoral dissertation. I will tell you because it is a very impressive contents.
”I think that the style of the world’s architecture will change due to this incident. For example, there is concern about the risk of having a large debt, and there is a risk of infection of huge floors, shared spaces and elevators that cannot rely on natural ventilation and rely on air conditioning. The risks of recent development, which tend to rely on building new huge buildings, have come to the fore. The time has come when the social needs of Okumura’s technology are widely recognized. Therefore, it is necessary to review the standards of architectural design. In fact, the social needs of the technology needed for regenerative architectures may become widely recognized in the future.”
I want to take care of my physical condition and hope to survive this era together.
Well, and I will send you one important photo. This is a picture of the sake presented by you on my desk. how is it? I think so it’s a cool desk!
Please forgive my poor English.
Thank you for all the events I spent with you. I look forward to seeing Professor Sinclair &Yuki again.
Best regards.
Seiichi OKUMURA
